India, a country to the world’s biggest democracy, 2nd largest world’s population and 5th major economy in the world. India evidently enjoys being right on top of the charts. Besides that, India holds the record for the most environmentally polluted cities in the world with 7 of the world’s 10 most polluted cities being in India. The world has also seen from India the highest number of internet shutdowns in 2019 more than any democracy in the globe with 93 reported incidents, an internet shutdown in Jammu and Kashmir which was imposed on 4th August 2019, is the longest the world has ever witnessed in a democracy, and what you really need to know, India is set to be the 2nd country in the world to openly open detention camps for who else but The Muslims. Quite some numbers.

Well you can’t talk about India without the mention of Narendra Thanos Modi ; the country’s PM. Under the authority of Modi the face of India has undoubtedly changed. Economy wise in 2017 India’s economy was as big as France’s. With the current Indian PM Narendra Thanos Modi in charge, India became the first country in the world to successfully reach Mars orbit in its first attempt and in the lowest budget. In furtherance of Modi’s achievements, India is on the verge of being a Hindu nationalist state, they might as well build a statue to honour him for the latter.

Two infinity stones finally in the hands of Narendra Thanos Modi to remould India into a Hindu nationalist state ; like violin and viola its NRC and CAA.

NRC, the National Register of Citizens. is an official record of those who are legal Indian citizens. It includes demographic information about all those individuals who qualify as citizens of India as per the Citizenship Act, 1955. The register was first prepared after the 1951 Census of India and since then it has not been updated until RECENTLY! The NRC first gained national prominence with its implementation in the Northeastern state of Assam where it excluded 2 million Muslims who now have to prove their citizenship or be rendered stateless. Hindus left off the list now have protection and Muslims could face detention.

NRC is closely linked with the CAA ; Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 .The Act seeks to amend the definition of an illegal immigrant in India. The legislation turns religion into a means of deciding whom to treat as an illegal immigrant and whom to give citizenship. According to the Act, “Members of the Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi communities who have come from the neighbouring Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh fleeing religious persecution will not be treated as illegal immigrants but will be given Indian citizenship”. It also relaxes the provisions for citizenship by naturalisation for the communities mentioned. Yes right Hindus ,Christians , Sikh , Buddhists and Parsi communities. Muslims have been left out by mistake, maybe typing error or perhaps the neighbouring Rohingya minority Muslims and Sri lankan minority Muslims are not victims of religious persecution.

The United Nations Human Rights Watch described the Act as “fundamentally discriminatory in nature”.

With NRC the Govt is stripping off citizenship in Muslim dominated areas and CAA is allowing other communities to come in and take citizenship. Modi wants to decrease the concentration of the Muslims ‘solution’ simply by adding a more ‘solvent’ in the name of other communities in the mix. Pretty odd for a country that has had a Muslim president just a decade ago and whre Muslims and Hindus have lived well together for 70 years. Why the sudden change ? Reality is, there is a paranoia that Muslims are growing in numbers and will soon be an important structure in India’s demography so they want dilute their population.

India’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath once said “Palestine was a Jewish Nation, Muslims invaded it , Iran was a Zoroastrian Nation, Muslims invaded it and India was a Hindu Nation Muslims invaded it ..We are going to reclaim back our country”.

Speaking history, Indian Islam owes its existence to the Mongol invasion. The Turk Muslims did enter India in the 11th century but they were a small sect and had command over few areas, they converted themselves into cultured people and got along intermixing with the locals. Under the Delhi Sultanate, there was a synthesis of Indian civilisation with that of Islamic civilisation. The time period of their rule included the earliest forms of Indo-Islamic architecture, increased growth rates in India’s population and economy, and the emergence of the Hindi-Urdu-language.

Then in the 12th century the Mongol empire launched several barbarous invasions into the Indian subcontinent causing the death of around 40 million lives as many historians put the number at. That’s some nation’s whole population.

As the Mongols progressed into the Indian hinterland and reached the outskirts of Delhi, The Delhi Sultanate led a campaign against them in which the Mongol army suffered serious defeats. People were now taking refuge in Delhi to get the protection of Alauddin Khalji, the ruler of Delhi Sultanate of India who had taken several measures against these invasions. In 1305, Alauddin’s forces inflicted a crushing defeat on the Mongols and eventually Ulghu one the senior most leaders of the Mongol empire accepted Islam with his followers and decided to stay in India. They were called ‘New Muslims’ and settled in the suburbs of Delhi and that was the turning point where several Islamic Empires came to rise and Indian Islam flourished. The Taj mahals were built and so many other major breakthroughs. God knows what could have happened to India if the Sultanate didn’t stop the Mongols.

But History isn’t a justification ..

Keeping in view of the advancements of Islamophobia across the globe. Those of us who are living secure because we are not Indian Muslims or Palestinian Muslims we are living in a fools paradise. Islamophobia is a global thing cutting across Europe, America, Asia ..tomorrow it might reach your doorstep, no Muslim is safe.

The Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said: “There will come a time when the Nations will unite and call each other to set upon you, just as diners gather around a plate of food.’
A man said, ‘will it be because of our lack of number at that time, O Messenger of Allah?’
He responded, ‘Rather you will be many in those times, but you will be like a scum foam that floats on the sea. Allah will remove fear from the hearts of your enemies and He will place Al Wahn in your hearts’, it was said, ‘What is Al-Wahn?
He responded, ‘Love of life, and hatred of death.’” [Sunan Abu Dawood 4297]

We ask Allah (s.w) to give us the strength to Withstand and most importantly the strength to Resist.
